PURPOSE:To achieve a magnetic recording medium excellent in wear resistance and low friction characteristic, by coating a magnetic substance paint consisting of magnetic powder added with fatty acid including an isomerized fatty acid and a fatty acid ester on one side of a nonmagnetic support body. CONSTITUTION:A liquid mixture which includes a fatty acid having C12-18 of >=95wt% and in which >=40wt% is an isomerized fatty acid having the C18, is added by 0.1-5pts.wt. to 100pts.wt. magnetic powder, and magnetic paint is prepared by adding 0.1-5pts.wt. of fatty acid ester consisting of monohydric alcohol of C10-18 fat number 1-4 to the 100pts.wt. magnetic powder. Next, this magnetic paint is coated on one side of the nonmagnetic support body. When the amount of mixture including the isomerized fatty acid is taken as >=5.0pts.wt., powder peeling and defect due to plasticizing of coating film are increased, and if the amount of usage of fatty acid ester is taken too much, the production of failure such as blooming phenomenon and plasticizing of coated film are incurred undesirably. |
