SCANNING CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To determined angular and radial positions quickly by calculating an interpolation value through a repeated additions without direct calculation of both positions. CONSTITUTION:A radial scanner 33 feeds analog data obtained along individual continuous radial lines to an A/D converter 35 to generate a digital sample at points equal in the interval along the radial lines. This sample is introduced to a memory 40. On the other hand, a means 42 receives a signal for indicating the time of starting a scanning along the radial lines from the scanner 33. An X counter 46 and a Y counter 50 feed a signal indicating that step's thereof are along the X axis and the Y axis respectively. X and Y up/down devices 48 and 52 feed a signal indicating whether steps thereof are in the direction of +x or -x and of +y or -y respectively. The outputs of the devices 46 and 48 and the devices 50 and 52 are applied to x and y address counters 54 and 56 separately thereby determining a final interpolation data value.
