PURPOSE:To acurately and quickly measure the thickness of a lens at its center by holding and pressing the lens being measured between lower and upper holders so that circumferential contact is maintained between the lens and each of the two holders. CONSTITUTION:A cup-like, upward open lower holder 3 with a circular contact edge 2, on which the lens being measured 1 is placed is provided. After the lens 1 is mounted on the contact edge 2 of the lower holder 3, an upper holder 6 is lowered until the lens 1 is held and properly pressed between the upper holder 6 and the lower holder 3. As a result, the lens 1 can be moved so that the angle between the lens surface and the contact edge is kept constant along all circumference. This allows the lens being measured to be simply centered, and its thickkness at its center to be measured accurately. |
