<p>NEW MATERIAL:N-Methyl-N-cyclohexyl-gamma-(1H-indol-4-yloxy)-butyramide of formulaI. USE:A beta-receptor blocking agent or an intermediate for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. PROCESS:The compound of formulaIis prepared by condensing the butyramide derivative of formula II (X is acid residue such as halogen, p-toluensulfonyloxy, methanesulfonyloxy, etc.) with 4-hydroxyindole of formula III in an inert gas atmosphere in a solvent such as water, methanol, benzene, etc., in the presence of an alkali metal condensation agent (e.g. NaOH, KOH, Na2CO3, etc.) at 100-160 deg.C, pref. 60-120 deg.C.</p> |
