COMPOSITE ROTOR BLADE A compressor rotor blade for a turbomachine is disclosed. Techniques for increasing the strength to weight ratio of the blade while maintaining adequate resistance to foreign object damage are developed. In one specific embodiment an all composite construction employs matrix materials of varied ductilities and yield strengths to improve the energy absorbing capabilities of the blade.
