The invention relates to a container, preferably intended for handling of waste. The container comprises in a way known per se an automatic blocking-and-releasing mechanism for a flap of the container. Said mechanism comprises a counterweight 19 which on handling the container may tip between two positions and at the same time manoeuvre retaining pawls 16 for the flap, forming parts of the mechanism. The counterweight is enclosed in and protected by a housing forming part of the container, and cooperates with a retainer device 23, 24, the retaining force of which is to be overcome by the counterweight before it may swing to a releasing position. <IMAGE> |
