PURPOSE:To make it possible to adjust an oil volume through the control of a rotary valve for regulating the damping force of a damper while being on board, by interposing a selector valve in an oil passage between the damper and a reservoir of a front suspension unit for a motor-cycle. CONSTITUTION:The condition of communication between a selector valve 11 having a plurality of oil passages 10a, 10b, 10c of different diameters and a variable orifice 9a is selected to control the volume of oil flowing between the damper 1 and a reservoir tank 4, by rotating a knob 13 of the selector valve 11 exposed from the outer surface of the damper 1. In other words, the moderate feeling for sensing the communication between a suitable one of the oil passages 10a, 10b, 10c and the variable orifice 9a is obtained and as well the automatical rotation of the selector valve 11 is checked, when a ball 22 urged by a spring 23 is engaged in any one of V-shape grooves 19a, 19b, 19c of the selector valve 11 by the rotation of the selector valve 11. With this arrangement, an open and close orifice 9b is opened by a check valve 16 during only the extending stroke of the damper so that oil in the resorvoir tank 4 is returned into the damper 1. |
