PURPOSE:To modify an existing suspension preheater in such a way that it can be operated in the same manner as with a newly constructed firing installation by providing a vertical type cylindrical calcining furnace into the space left after removal of the existing distributing duct and vortex chamber. CONSTITUTION:The 1st distributing duct 1 and vortex chamber 4 of a suspension preheater shown in the figure left are removed, and a vertical type cylindrical calcining furnace 10 is provided as shown in the figure right in this removed part. Next, the bottom part of a secondary air lead-in part 11 for combustion of the furnace 10 is connected to a kiln inlet chamber 2, and the inlets of final stage cyclones 3 and 3' and the upper part of the furnace 10 are connected with respective descending ducts 13 and 13'. Further, cyclones 14 and 14' are newly installed symmetrically on the right and left to the upper position on the outer sides of the cyclones 3 and 3', and the respective outlets thereof are connected to the 2nd distributing duct 5 respectively by means of ascending ducts 16 and 16'. Also, treatments such as connection of the raw material outlets of the cyclones 14 and 14' to the furnace 10 respectively by means of raw material chutes 17 and 17' and the like are carried out, whereby the suspension preheater is modified to the intended one with the calcining furnace as shown in the figure right. |
