PURPOSE:To use general telephone lines to gather data of an audience rating in real time, by detecting sounds of a braodcast, which is watched in a place to be surveyed, in a survey source and by comparing these sounds with sounds of broadcasts, which are received by the survey source independently, to specify a broadcasting station name. CONSTITUTION:Terminals 1A and 1B of a terminal station equipment and a terminal 40 of a master station equipment are connected by a subscriber telephone line, and a sound detecting means 9 is connected to a survey object device 8 in the audience side of a place to be surveyed. When a response signal is transmitted from an exchange to this master station equipment, the master station equipment detects this signal to send a transmission request signal for heard sounds to the terminal station equipment. Then, sounds of the device 8 are transmitted to the master station equipment and are inputted to a comparing part 38 through a phase inverting part 35. Meanwhile, a broadcast receiving part 36 supplies the output sound level of broadcasting stations to the comparing part 38. When the broadcasting station which is received in the device 8 coincides with a receiving broadcasting station, the comparing part 38 stores its broadcsting station name in a storage part 39. |
