<p>The condenser for a heat pump is an upright cylinder with inlet and outlet connections at the top for the refrigerating medium and water. The refrigerant outlet is connected to a vertical tube extending to the bottom, and the water inlet and outlet are connected to vertical tubes from top to bottom. The tubes are enclosed by the turns of the coil (7) which connect the water inlet and outlet tubes. Above the top, turns, and below the bottom turns of the coil are baffle discs (10,11) for the refrigerant. They are attached to the vertical water tubes. The bottom and top two sets of windings of the coil are spaced from the remainder of the windings by sections of rectangular tube (15), between the inside and outside of the coil. Straps (16) enclose the coil windings from top to bottom, retaining these rectangular tubes.</p> |
