Hanger is made by injection moulding, removing from the mould while still deformable, and deforming to final shape which is not readily attainable by injection moulding. The moulding pref. has two interconnected body sections and deformation increases the spacing the these so that the hanger better fills the interior of a garment. Stretching is pref. carried out on a shaping mould and the hanger is cooled on the mould by directing compressed air against it. The hanger pref. has a pair of vertical struts at each side which are flared outwardly in the lower part and are joined by top, bottom and intermediate strute, with shoulder support struts extending to a top centre hook. The plastic is e.g. polypropylene and the hanger is for point-of-sale use.
