The vibration damper is fixed to the end (10) of the rotating shaft (1) running in the bearing (3). It consists of a rotating section (4) keyed to the shaft and having the form of a hollow casing. A second element (7) of the damper is mounted co-axially on the hub (44) of the rotating section with an 'o'ring (6) interposed between the two. A series of annular discs (41) is fitted to the inside of the rotating casing (42) whilst a second series (7) is fixed to the "free" element (7). Both sets of discs are interleaved within fine tolerances and pref. are coated with a dry lubricant or PTFE.
