摘要 PURPOSE:To carry out measurement with high precision in a simple way by functioning two probes for a position detector at corresponding points on each curved plane of a worm and a hob. CONSTITUTION:A worm 1 and a hob 2 are so supported as to make same rotation without an error, and on a (x) (y) cross sliding table 8, detectors P and Q are set so that the positions of each probe P' and Q' in the (y) direction become same, and each of them makes contact with tooth surfaces of the worm 1 and hob 2 and a cutting edge. Then, a measuring object is slowly turned and at the same time, fed to the (x) (y) cross sliding main body 5 approximately synchronizing with the progressing direction of the worm gear, and the position signals of the probes P' and Q' from the detectors P and Q are recorded. The same measuring is applied to different (y) values of various types and the relative error in the tooth profile of the lead of the worm 1 and the hob 2 is obtained.
