PURPOSE:To improve the rectifying operation and the output performance of a DC machine by installing a magnetic suppressing piece of a ferromagnetic unit at the end and an armature facing via a small air gap with the piece in the space between adjacent poles of permanent field magnet and magnetic focusing pole piece. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic suppressing piece 36 of a ferromagnetic unit is projected from a yoke 10 in the space 34 between adjacent poles formed of permanent field magnet 12 of ferrite magnet and focusing pole piece 14. The piece 36 is bent outwardly at the predetermined position, and is approached in parallel with the side 28 of the piece 14. A support 42 of nonmagnetic material is interposed between the bent part 40 of the piece 36 and the side 28 of the piece 14, thereby supporting fixedly the bent part. Accordingly, the magnetic gradient along the outer periphery of the armature between the ends A and B of the piece 36 is remarkably reduced, thereby largely reducing the leakage magnetic fluxes 30, 32 flowing into the teeth 22 of the armature. Thus, the rectifying operation and the output performance can be improved. |
