PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled composite oxide having small grain size, relatively large specific surface area and a fine perovskite type crystal structure by reacting lead monoxide with hydrate type titanic acid and/or hydrate type zirconic acid under hydrothermal conditions. CONSTITUTION:Lead monoxide having <=0.2mum primary grain size obtd. preferably by a wet process and hydrate type titanic acid and/or hydrate type zirconic acid having 0.01-3mum grain size are dispersed in an aqueous medium in a practically equimolar ratio, and they are hydrothermally reacted while agitating. The suitable concn. of the starting materials in the aqueous medium is 5- 40wt%, and the hydrothermal reaction temp. is 110-200, especially 120-150 deg.C. The resulting composite oxide is optionally dried or calcined at <850 deg.C and applied to various uses. When this composite oxide is applied to the use of ceramics, it shows extremely superior sinterability. |
