PURPOSE:To avoid the defective fixing or uneven fixing for any size of the copy paper in a high frequency heating fixing device, by opening or closing a slit provided to a high frequency waveguide in accordance with the width of the copy paper. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency heating fixing device consists of a microwave generator 1, a waveguide 3 and a cooling fin 7. A number of slits 4 are provided to the waveguide 3 in parallel and with an angle of 45 deg. for instance to the carrying direction 6 of the copy paper 5. An open/close member 8 is made of the same material as the waveguide 3 and has a function to close the slit 4 in accordance with plural sizes of the copy paper. A filter 9 is provided at the region where the high frequency passes in correspondence to the slit 4. For the B-size paper, for instance, the member 8 moves to close 4a and 4b of the slit 4. The uneven quantity of the frequency of the lengthwise direction of the waveguide 3 is compensated by the filter 9 (obtained by dispersing the metal into the quartz glass). |
