Process for the manufacture in the liquid phase of aromatic isocyanates by the reaction of aromatic nitro compounds with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising a zeolite containing at least one active metal selected from Group VIII or IB of the Periodic Table of the Elements in the form of a cation or of a metallic crystallite in the zeolite.
