PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic resin lens of relatively high refractive index and superior properties by causing radical copolymerization of mixed liquids of monomers contg. three kinds of specific monomers and an UV absorbing agent and molding the copolymer to a lens. CONSTITUTION:Mixed liquids of monomers contg. 9-80pts.wt. the monomer expressed by the formulaI(X is halogen excluding fluorine, H), 20-80pts.wt. the monomer expressed by the formula II (Y is halogen excluding fluorine; R1 is H, methyl) and 1-80pts.wt. the monomer expressed by the formula III (R2 is C1-6 alkyl, halogen excluding fluorine; R3 is H, methyl; (m), (m'), (n) are 0, 1-4) and 0.01-2.0pts.wt. an UV absorbing agent are caused to make radical copolymerization and the copolymer is molded to a lens. Said molding is accomplished by adding a polymn. initiator to the monomers of the formulasI, II, III and the UV absorbing agent and heating the mixed liquids in the space created by two pieces of glass molds having prescribed curvatures and gaskets. |
