PURPOSE:To improve response speed by forming new transparent electrodes on the display segment transparent electrodes of a display panel through transparent insulating layers and applying high frequency voltage with specific frequency between a pair of transparent electrodes into which a liquid crystal material is inserted. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 2, 2' for a display segment are formed on a glass plates 1, 1', insulating layers 3, 3' are formed in the range corresponding to the display part and transparent electrodes 4, 4' are formed on the whole surface. After rubbing treatment of glass base plates, sealing parts 5 are adheared thereto with a prescribed gap and the liquid crystal material is injected to obtain the liquid crystal panel. Then high frequency voltage with the frequency increasing the dielectric loss of the liquid crystal is applied between the opposing transparent electrodes 4, 4' of the liquid crystal panel and the energy corresponding to the dielectric loss is dispersed as heat to heat the liquid crystal material. |
