PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material free from deposition on a thermal head and the like, a sticking phenomenon and pressure coloring, by incorporating a specified benzoic acid N-alkylamide in a heat-sensitive coloring layer, and protecting said layer by a water-soluble resin film coated thereon. CONSTITUTION:To a heat-sensitive coloring layer containing a colorless or light-colored leuco dye (e.g., Crystal Violet Lactone) and an acidic mateial or phenol compound which reacts with said dye to develop a color when heated (e.g., bisphenol A), a compound of formulaI(where R1 is C1-30 alkyl), e.g., of formula II is added. It is desirable that the weight of the compound is 0.5-2.0 times that of said dye. Said heat-sensitive coloring layer is applied on a supporting body such as paper and dried. Then an aqueous solution of a water- soluble resin such as PVA is applied thereon and dried to form a protecting film comprising the water-soluble resin. |
