PURPOSE:To increase vibration damping capability of a group of tubes for boiler, etc. by installing a wire made of small metal wires round tubes in such a way as to place the wire straight or in wave shape or in spiral among the tubes at right angle to the tube axis and make the wire contact outer periphery of tubes by which it passes. CONSTITUTION:A wire 8 that is made up by twisting more than three ferrous or nonferrous or ferrous and nonferrous fine strands is inserted and snaked through adjacent tubes 1 or a wire 9 is wound more than once on adjacent tubes successively, or wires 10 and 10' are used at the same time to place and snake them through every other tubes, or a wire 11 is passed between the gaps among tubes. The wires are given ample twisting before they are placed on tubes and afterwards untwisted or the spring back action of the wire elements is utilized to adjust the contact of the wire with tubes. For vibration in tubes the damping by friction or spring action among wire elements is imparted to tubes and buffer action is given to the contact of the wire with tubes. They contribute to suppression of vibration in tubes. |
