Method for the production of rubber elastomer or thermoplastics objects such as soles of sports shoes, walking shoes etc. The mold base contains a number of parallel grooves in its upper surface; the base of each groove is a portion of a cylinder, while the upper part is defined by sidewalls perpendicular to the upper face of the mold and defining a gap somewhat narrower than the cylindrical lower part of the groove, thus producing an undercut alongside of each rib of the resultant molding. Each groove is closed at each end by a bridge across it, the end face of the groove being open to constitute a continuous open tube.
