PURPOSE:To obtain a manufacturing method for a double-gap magnetic head whose gap interval can be decreased. CONSTITUTION:A bar 1 formed by a ferromagnetic material, such as ferrite, has a longitudinal groove 2 in its one surface; a formed block 3 of a nonmagnetic material, such as ceramics and glass, is stuck to the groove and its surface is finished into a specular surface. At the front part of this surface, a nonmagnetic layer 4 as a magnetic gap is provided, and over the entire surface, a ferromagnetic thin film 5 is provided. This ferromagnetic thin film 5 is provided as a center core and a soft-magnetic thin film formed by sputtering or vapor deposition may be used. Two blocks like this are bonded in one body with a nonmagnetic layer 6 for magnetic insulation sandwiched in-between the both. In the back surface of the united block, two grooves 7 for winding are made. Then, this is cut into head pieces 8 and after a coil 9 is provided at the cut part, a closed magnetic path structure is completed by a back bar 10. |
