PURPOSE:A cosmetic exhibiting improve water retention characteristics, having excellent effect on fatty skin, especially Acne Vulgaris, obtained by blending a cosmetic base with a hot water extracted solution of the rhizome of a bletilla of an orchidaceous plant. CONSTITUTION:Water is added to pulverized rhizome of a bletilla of orchidaceous plant or its dried powder, which is heated and filtered, to give an extracted solution. A cosmetic base is blended with this extracted solution to give a cosmetic, e.g., lotion, hair tonic, pack, etc. The amount of the extracted solution used is not particularly limited, and this extracted solution may be used in combination with other extracted solution of a crude drug component. In the case of the pack, the dried powder may be blended with a pack powder base. The cosmetic exhibits improved water retention characteristics, controls the overproduction of skin fats, liqid decomposition action by microorganisms living in the skin, and the keratinization exasperation of epithelium of a hair follicle, improves fatty skin, shows improved effect on the prevention and remedy of Acne Vulgaris, dark skin, etc. |
