PURPOSE:To obtain a battery with long life in charge and discharge cycle by suppressing the degradation of electrode through addition of metals to aluminum substrate so that volume change of the electrode is minimized and strength of the aluminum substrate itself is increased. CONSTITUTION:Al, Mg, Si, Fe, Cr, Cu, Zn and Mn are weighed by a weight ratio of 96.2:2.5:0.3:0.4:0.1:0.3:0.1:0.1 and an alloy is prepared by heat treatment in the Ar atmosphere. The alloy is used for an electrode and Li-Al alloy is formed on the surface thereof using an electrolytic solution that LiBF4 is dissolved in a mixed solvent of propylene carbonate and 1, 2-dimethoxyethane (volume ratio 50:50). Using foregoing electrode as a negative electrode 4, a battery is assembled in a Teflon cell 10. By the arrangement, volume change of the layer comprising Li-Al alloy caused by repeating charge and discharge cycle is minimized and the electrolyte is prevented from breakdown so that long life of the battery is achieved. |
