PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of frequently supplementing members to be recorded for a sheet feeding cassette corresponding to recording units of high priority sequence by setting the priority sequence to the used recording units and providing the containing capacity of the cassette in response to the sequence of the recording unit. CONSTITUTION:When a recording is started in the step 501, the number of designated recording is set to a number counter in the step 502, and the number N of recording is compared by a counter with the number M of recording units. Then, in case of N>M, the sheet conveying system of the first to third recording units U1-U3 are energized in the step 504, and the units U1-U3 start recording in the step 505. When the recording is finished, a head is deenergized in the step 506. When the recorded sheet is exhausted to an exhausted sheet tray, a sheet conveying system is deenergized in the step 507. In case of N<M, whether it is 1 or 2 is checked in the step 509. In case of 2, the units U1, U2 are recorded in the steps 514-517. In case of 1, the unit U1 is recorded in the steps 524-527. The containing capacity of the recorded sheets of the cassette is sequentially increased according to the priority sequence U1>U2>U3 of the units. |
