This suspended-matter filter insert comprises a filter paper strip which is folded longitudinally in zigzag form. Longitudinal beads (5) for maintaining the spacing are arranged symmetrically around the respective fold edge, the adjacent two fold edges remaining free. The height of the longitudinal beads (5) is equal to half the spacing (11) of the folded surfaces from one another. In the folded state, the longitudinal beads (5) are bonded together by means of their upper edges. Such spaces are easily provided on the filter paper, ensure the fold spacing and cover only a small part of the filter-paper surfaces.
