In order to ensure re-ignition capability in minimum fluid breakers during the breaking of capacitive current, such breakers are designed with a pressurized gas cushion, arranged under a top hood, whose packing is placed under a given lowest fluid level in the breaker. This top hood must be designed according to applicable regulations for pressured containers and with earlier constructions, it must also be gas tight. A substantial improvement in the construction is achieved through the insertion of a pressure-tight gasometer (22) under the top hood (20). This ensures that the top hood (20) need only be made fluid tight, which simplifies its production. Inspection of the breaking chamber, furthermore, does not imply that fluid be extracted, as the fluid level in non-pressured breakers is lower than the top hood's packing (21). The gasometer (22) receives the same pressure on both sides of the wall and can therefore be thin-walled. This facilitates its production via deep dragging in suitable material, whereby rigorous testing is not required.<IMAGE> |
