Parallel connection of esp. small filters to common manifolds - uses inlet and return headers in one pipe

A device for connecting a number of (small) filters in parallel for filtering gas or liquid, comprises an inlet header and outlet header for each group of filters; these headers in turn are connected to their respective inlet and outlet manifolds. The inlet header and outlet header are formed in a single pipe, in which they are separated by a dividing wall: these headers have respective connections to the manifolds (at top and bottom in fig.). The ducts connecting the headers to the filters are arranged in pairs, each pair having only one double connecting flange. Pref. the inlet connection and outlet connecting to the respective manifolds are at opposite ends of the pipe. The double flanges are pref. arranged successively in a row parallel to the axis of the pipe containing the headers. Used for any arrangement where a number of small filters are to be connected in parallel, either to provide a larger filtering capacity without using larger filter units, or to enable some filters to be shut down for maintenance while still keeping the system in operation. The arrangement is simple and inexpensive and easy to assemble.
