Hydrostatic drive with a pump, a feedline emerging from this, to which at least one consuming unit is connected by way of a branch line, and an adjustable throttle in the branch line, the adjusting element of the throttle being acted upon on one side by a randomly controllable pressure and on the other side by the pressure in the branch line between throttle and consuming unit, in order to ensure that the pressure medium flows to the consuming unit at a pre-selected pressure, although the adjustment imparted to the pump is not a function of the consuming unit pressure and preferably only a function of the flow taken up by the consuming unit.
