A chassis for all-wheel drive motor vehicles has a chassis frame (1), in which an engine gearbox unit (2) and a separate transfer box (5) are flexibly mounted. The transfer box (5) is connected by way of a propeller shaft (4) to the engine gearbox unit (2) and drives the drive axles (8, 9) by way of propeller shafts (6, 7). In order to create a transfer box suspension on such a chassis which precludes inadmissible vibration amplitudes of the transfer box (5) without impairing the sound insulation in relation to the chassis frame (1), the transfer box (5) is supported on the engine gearbox unit (2) by means of at least one suspension arm (11; 12, 13; 15) or the like which crosses the horizontal axis (h) of the transfer box (5) running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the chassis and is preferably arranged in the longitudinal direction of the chassis. <IMAGE>
