The invention relates to a device for keeping large opencast-mining units horizontal, the crawler tracks of which are steerable, work on an inclined grade and are connected to a loading unit. The aim of the invention is to keep all parts of the main and follower units above the crawler tracks horizontal via a levelling device and to design this levelling device in such a way that no restriction in the effective handling capacity occurs. The object is to create a crawler-track arrangement with a minimum linear extent and to configure the adjusting members for keeping the machine horizontal in such a way that they result in the optimally minimum overall height and the effectiveness of the horizontal control is transmitted to the loading unit and follower units. This is achieved according to the invention by the three-point levelling of the main unit forming the basis of the levelling for the follower units and by this being effected via the platform including support from the main unit and by the belt bridge with intermediate belt then being levelled via a further three-point suspension which is arranged on the main unit and the follower unit. The discharge belt is then levelled as a function of the horizontal control of the main unit and the belt bridge from the loading unit. By direction of the vertical forces from the offset of the bearing points of the adjusting members and control drawbars via a supporting and guide path, the load on the adjusting and steering element is relieved and the latter can thereby be kept within justifiable dimensions. <IMAGE>
