The slotted edge part of the plastic sheet is bent around a line parallel to the edge so that tongues located between the slots over at least the main part of the edge length form an angle with the plane of the sheet. When the sheet is wound around a plant, it forms a protection with a lower vertical part, which evolves into an upper conically narrowing part closing relatively tightly around the plant under the spring effect of the tongues. The sheet is rectangular in shape with sufficient width that it can cover at least a part of the plant root clump. Its length allows it to be wound two to three times around a plant. The sheet edge part forms an angle of pref. 70 deg. with the plane of the sheet, the slots are pref. 25mm long approx., and spaced pref. approx. 3 cms. apart. The sheet is slightly coloured. |
