<p>The method is characterized by the fact that the starting protein is an aqueous solution of said polyosides, containing protake impurities, obtained by lysis of a culture of Streptococcus pneumoniae, clarification and concentration of the polyoside, that, with the aim to reduce the protein content, there are added 5 to 50 % of phenol by volume, at a temperature comprised between 5 and 30oC approximately, that the aqueous phase is first stirred, and then separated and collected, and that the phenol treatment, if necessary, is repeated until the protein content of the aqueous phase is lower than a predetermined treshold.</p> |
