In a semi-automatic firearm for small-calibre cartridge ammunition or for projectiles propelled by compressed gas, a spring-stressed hammer (20) for triggering the shot is released and is recocked automatically by means of an actuating member. The actuating member engages on the hammer (20) at a point or linearly and at the greatest possible distance from its axis of rotation (24), so that the low return forces available are sufficient. For point or linear contact between the actuating member and hammer (20), the latter has a dome- shaped or semicylindrical bearing surface (22), and the bearing surface (33) of the striker end (32) serving as an actuator member is curved convexly in the manner of a quarter ellipse and is so arranged that mutual contact (point or line) travels from the end point of the major ellipse axis in the direction of the minor ellipse axis. <IMAGE> |
