The i.c. engine cylinder head comprises a precombustion chamber which forms an insert in the head and also contains the fuel injector. This insert is seated under spring load on a shoulder provided in the head adjacent to the flame duct. The spring elements may bear on a bush which engages a shoulder on the outer surface of the insert via sealing rings. The insert may be arranged below a rocker lever support with an opening through which the inector projects. A cylinder head cover may have an access opening for the injector whose side walls are preferably sealed relative to the opening.
