Aqueous printing fluids having excellent bleed fastness in the presence of water, milk or soap and which are particularly suitable for printing and colouring cellulosic webs comprise an aldehyde selected from formaldehyde, glyoxal and glutaraldehyde, and a water-soluble, cationic dyestuff having a functional group capable of reacting with the aldehyde to produce a reaction product dyestuff having improved bleed fastness on cellulosic fibers. Advantageously the dyestuff comprises at least one disazo compound which is polyaminomethylated.
