PURPOSE:To improve a closed circuit voltage in heavy duty discharge at a low temperature by using amalgamated zinc powder whose surface is alloyed with lead as a zinc anode active material of an alkaline battery. CONSTITUTION:A cathode black mix 2, a separator 4, and anode agent 5 are accommodate into a cathode can 1, and an anode terminal plate 6 is placed inside this can for sealing it, interposing an annular gasket 7, thus an alkaline battery is formed. Amalgamated zinc powder whose surface is alloyed with lead is used as an anode active material in the anode agent 5. This zinc powder is produced in such a way that either one of lead salts such as lead acetate, lead formate, lead lactate, or lead nitrate is added into a neutral solution or an alkalne solution and dissolved to prepare a lead salt solution, and amalgamated zinc powder is added into this solution, stirred uniformly, washed, and dried. |
