PURPOSE:To improve the safety of a tire when it is mounted first by making an expander consist of the expander itself which has a number of protrusions protruded radially on the edge and which are located on the tire side and a number of tire chain expanding members that are composed of elastic materials. CONSTITUTION:For example, a plate type expander itself 2 consisting of hard synthetic resin and metals is constructed by providing six triangular protrusions 2a on their edge. The first hooking section 4 which hooks one end of a non-end type chain pulling member 3 consisting of elastic materials such as rubber and the second hooking section 5 which hooks the other end of the pulling member 3 are provided on the radial line which passes through the tip of each protrusions 2a. The first hooking section 4 consists of a hole 4a and a hole section 4b which is composed of two holes and the second hooking section 5 consists of a protrusion with a large diameter head. When used, one end of the pulling member 3 whose other end is hooked into the hole 4a is passed through and folds a part of a chain 12 which is applied around a tire 11 and then the chain 12 is expanded by hooking one end on any of protrusions 5. |
