A device for controlling the rotation of a machine tool indexing table 12 &c. comprises two relatively - reciprocating coaxial members 25, 31, one having a stop 29 to engage one of a number of circumferentially and axially-spaced stops 33a, 33d on the other member, one member being rotatable to render a required one of the latter stops operative. The rod 31 is angularly adjusted by the knob 35. The moving piston 25 oscillates a pinion 22 secured to the shaft of the table. To index the table, it is first raised by a piston 13 to disengage table-locating teeth 17, 18 and to engage clutch teeth 20, 21 to enable the motion of the piston to be transmitted to the table. |
