PURPOSE:To set up easily and correctly the distance between a cathode and the surface of G1 electrode, by using a mounting apparatus with plural precisely designed projections which is predetermined distance away from a plane, this plane being in contact with the overall upper surface of a cathode-supporting body. CONSTITUTION:A cathode structure of a color cathode-ray tube is designed in such manner, so that a cathode-supporting body 12 provided wit three cathodes 14 is fitted into G1 electrode 11 of a blocked cylindrical body, and the distance between an electron emission surface on a cathode 14 and a G1 electrode surface is set up to be a predetrmined value d. In this case, a standard surface 3A in contact with the upper surface 12A on the cathode-supporting body 12, and the cathode-mounting apparatus 3 equipped with three precisely fabricated projections 3B which is placed a distance d away from the standard surface are prepared; here said distance d being one between the electron emission surface of the cathode 14 and G1 electrode; next, the cathode- mounting apparatus, a welding electrode 17 is fitted into the cathode 14, which is inserted into the cathode-supporting cylinder 13 in order to be in contact with the projections 3B and welded to fix it. Consequently, the predetermined distance d can be easily set up and the stability of this cathode-mounting apparatus can be enhanced. |
