PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance and the airtightness of scroll members by applying surface treatment layers on the surfaces of scroll members. CONSTITUTION:In a scroll fluid machine, a fixed scroll 1 and a rotary scroll 2, which cnsist of mirror plate sections 1a, 2a and lap sections 1b, 2b are arranged to engage each other at the lap sections 1b, 2b. Surface treatment layers 10, 11, 12 are applied on the surfaces of the lap groove sections 1c, 2c; the lap sections 1b, 2b; the mirror plate sections 1a, 2a of both scrolls 1, 2. These surface layers 10 through 12 are formed by treatment of sulphurizing and nitriding for cast iron and steel, and anodic oxidation and Tefoln soaking for aluminum alloy. When the fixed scroll 1 and the rotary scroll 2 are pressed each other in the axial direction, soft portions with high fitness on the surface treatment layers 10 through 12 covering all surfaces fit each other, forming a sealed space 9. Therefore, the coarseness of the surfaces is minimized, and the airtightness is improved. |
