PURPOSE:To enable stopping of refrigerant supply to a damaged stave cooling tube and by-passing the refrigerant instantly by providing a four-way valve in plural continuous connecting tubes of the same cooling system in a stave cooling device. CONSTITUTION:The refrigerant that cools a stave 1 passes in the order of A-B-C-D-E to cool the furnace wall when stave cooling tubes 2 are in sound condition. In the case where a stave cooling tube 2A is damaged, a by-pass tube 5 is provided between a tube 8 of four-way valve 6A and a tube 10 of four-way valve 6B, and the refrigerant is passed in the order of A-B-F-G-E by switching four-way valves 6A, 6B instantly. After removing the cooling tube 2A from the refrigerant passage, irregular refractory is pressed into the tube 2A from a tube 9 and taken out from a tube 11. After confirming that it is taken out, valves 12, 13 are closed. |
