PURPOSE:To enable effective use of encoder and decoder, by connecting a magnetic recorder and reproducer which does not incorporate a noise reduction mechanism and a tape deck which incorporates the noise reduction mechanism. CONSTITUTION:In a recording mode, signal from a recording input terminal 15 passes through an amplifier 16, an encoder 13, and is recorded through a magnetic head 18 or an input terminal 25 of a external deck 12. In a reproducing mode, a reproducing signal of a reproducing head 19 or the external deck is selected and is outputted at a reproducing output terminal 22 through a decoder 14. It is possible that the reproducing signal from the external deck 12 is dubbing-recorded to a main apparatus through amplifier 16, recording AMP 17. At this time, the encoder 13, decoder 14 which form the noise reduction mechanism, are disconnected and the signal to be recorded from the external input terminal 24 is switched and monitor reproduction is carried out. |
