PURPOSE:To prepare a resin for toner by emulsion-suspension polymerization using specified substances as an emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of a high-MW vinyl polymer and as a dispersant for the suspension polymerization of a low-MW vinyl polymer, thereby improving the non-offset property, low-temp. fixability, moisture resistance, static characteristics and scattering property of the product. CONSTITUTION:A resin for toner is formed by polymerizing a low-MW vinyl polymer by suspension polymerization in the presence of a high-MW vinyl polymer emulsion. The emulsifier used for the high-MW vinyl polymer emulsion is an anionic, water-soluble high-MW polymer suspension polymerization dispersant I, and a low-MW vinyl polymer suspension polymerization dispersant II used is at least one member selected from among anionic and nonionic suspension polymerization dispersants. The dispersant I includes, e.g., carboxymethylcellulose and vinyl polymers having a metal salt group of a carboxylic or sulfonic acid at the side chain. |
