<p>The heating element (8) is a thin flat sheet of e.g. carbon black with insulated edges, laid between a facing panel (9) of pref. reinforced plaster and a thermally insulating blanket (10) of e.g. glass wool, to which it may or may not be bonded physically. The element (8) incorporates two conductive strips (11) of e.g. copper to which are soldered four vertical conductors (12) for power supply passing through the blanket (10). A vapour barrier layer (13) in the form of a flat film is bonded adhesively over the whole surface of the blanket, and extends over the edges of the element (8). Modular panels of this nature are arranged in rows to form a continuous surface, and are interconnected electrically by insulated cables with plug and socket end connectors.</p> |
