Surfboard with pref. blow-moulded outer skin - has stiffeners pushed into interior later and fixed in position

Board is composed of a skin of shaped plastics tubing reinforced internally with one or more stiffening components pushed into the interior. Pref. the stiffening component is a single fork-shaped plank esp. of rigid foam. Alternatively, the stiffening component(s) are themselves hollow, esp. blow moulded components. Pipes or tubes, esp. of high-pressure polyethylene, may also be pushed into the interior to act as stiffening components and are pref. glued or sealed to each other. This arrangement results in a simpler and less expensive method of construction than the conventional board with a foam core.
