<p>The assembly includes at least two replaceable pipettes (a,b), where pipette (b) has a smaller vol. than pipette (a). Pneumatic pumps are used to create pressure or a vacuum to fill or empty the pipettes, the bottom ends of which are joined by a pipe provided with two solenoid valves and an inlet for one liq. Between the two valves is a mobile pipe with a larger vol. than pipette (b). A sec. liq. can be drawn into the mobile pipe, which is then swivelled so the second liq. can be fed into a breaker followed by the first liq., both with exact vols. Adjustable level detectors on both pipettes (a,b) actuate the valves. Used e.g. in pharmaceutical or chemical laboratories for diluting a sample.</p> |
