In order to avoid both siphoning and undesirable "blow-outs" of air, washing water is sprayed into the washing chamber of a dishwashing machine through a nozzle 23 disposed close to but spaced horizontally from an opening 17 formed in an inclined portion of the top wall 6 of the washing chamber, and spaced vertically from the lower edge of the opening 17. The nozzle 23 is disposed at a corner of the top. wall 6 and ejects liquid as a fan-shaped jet through the opening 17 into the space between the wall 6 and a fanshaped baffle 32 formed with louvres 33. Corrugations 35 in the wall 6 deflect the spray downwardly.</p> |
