<p>The cutter is for grooving a piece of wood, such as a beam or railway sleeper. It has a set of driven rollers to drive the beam longitudinally. The ends are held in compression and cutting of the groove is by a chain. Automatic placing below the beam of a lifting hoop is provided and forming this hoop involves automatic welding of the hoop ends. The grooving gear is on two bent, pivoted arms.</p> |
